1900s

The Boesenberg Store was actually located in what was then known as Mannheim, IL. The area has now become part of Franklin Park. It was in existence near the turn of the century. The grocery, post office, etc. were located near what is now Mannheim Rd. and the Mannheim Railroad Depot.

The Forster Waterbury Foundry began operations in Franklin Park at 9400 Belmont in the early 1900s. This is the current site of Nelson Steel. An interesting fact is, their phone number was FR 18. (Does this tell you how far back in time their business dates?)

The Franklin Park bank was located on the first floor of the building at 9700 Franklin Ave. (Dr. Dodge has offices on the second floor; see window above doorway). The bank served Franklin Park in the early 1900s. This building still stands. It has served many different businesses over the years, and is now home to La Taverna Mexican Restaurant.
