Halloween Mystery & Romance

Murder for HalloweenTrickAre horror tales and ghost stories a little too scary? Try out a Halloween-themed mystery or romance to get in the holiday spirit--without the spirits!

  • All Hallows' Evil by Valerie Wolzien is a cozy mystery featuring suburban housewife Susan Henshaw investigating a murdered talk show host.
  • Bewitching Kittens and Enchanting Kittens are both collections of 3 regency romance stories which also feature kittens.
  • Murder for Halloween: Tales of Suspense is a collection of 18 haunting stories from authors such as Ed McBain and Marcia Muller. Some of the tales may have horror elements, but as with any story collection, you can skip the ones you don't like and read the others.
  • Trick or Treat Murder by Leslie Meier is a cozy mystery. It's October in Maine and Tinker's Cove is preparing for its annual Halloween festival. As amateur sleuth Lucy Stone is getting her kids ready for the holiday, an arsonist is loose in town. When the latest fire claims the life of the owner of Tinker's Cove's oldest house, arson turns into murder.
  • Trick or Treachery by Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain is another cozy mystery. The annual Halloween party in Cabot Cave takes on a real scary tone when a self-proclaimed witch ends up dead in the graveyard. Jessica stirs through a witches' brew of motives--and concocts a scary scheme of her own to make sure the guilty ghoul doesn't get away with murder.
